Hotkeys (mostly) not working on Toshiba A660 laptop

Bug Description

The hotkeys on my Toshiba A660 11M laptop are mostly not working. Currently running Maverick 64, saw the same with Lucid 64.

Full list of keys:

fn+F1 (Lock Screen): Working.
fn+F2 (Backlight on/off): Not working.
fn+F3 (Suspend to RAM): Working.
fn+F4 (Suspend to Disc): Not working.
fn+F5 (switch external monitor on/off): Not working. Generates a 'p' character in the terminal.
fn+F6/7 (Brightness up/down): Working.
fn+F8 (Wireless on/off): Not working.
fn+F9 (Enable/disable internal touchpad): not working.

Attachment added per instructions.

I restarted g-p-m in verbose mode, then pressed each of the not working hotkeys (see above) in turn. Then I stopped g-p-m.

Just to be clear- suspend to disk (as well as RAM) works fine from the menu.

I am having the same issue. It apparently resulted in not able to enable the wireless network device! wireless network device is not working. I can connect to network using LAN cable but wireless LAN is disabled. Without wireless network and thereby internet connection, there is no use of working on Ubuntu.

Please somebody take some action on it.

FokkerCharlie: Is wireless network device working on your ubuntu - Toshiba Satellite A660 laptop? If yes, please let me know how did you make it work. I can manage with non-working hotkeys somehow but I cannot manage with non-working wireless networking. :(
