halting kubuntu live CD/DVD doesn't accept "Press Enter to reboot"

Bug Description
trying to restart the CD/DVD:
- the splash screen is drawn
- printed "please remove the CD, press enter to continue"
- ENTER isn't accepted.
Pressing Ctrl-Alt-DEL causes restarting at the sequence mentioned above. Reset is the only possibility to continue at this point.
