2010-09-09 19:04:11 Heimen Stoffels description Since me and many other users have problems with performance and such with the Flash Player on AMD64, why don't we include 1.3.0 of the nspluginwrapper instead of 1.2.2? 1.3.0 is almost one year old now and contains: "performance optimizations, with an emphasis on energy efficiency. In particular, active timers were reduced for Gtk-based plugins, and RPC traffic was reduced by up to 65% for certain Web sites with Flash. Other minor features useful to packaging and debugging were also added." http://freshmeat.net/projects/nspluginwrapper/releases/291307 So why don't we include this one? There are more snapshots in stable releases in the repo's, and since this one has major advantages over the 1.2.2 one, why don't we include this one? I tested it already and it does make a huge difference, performance is sooo much better than with 1.2.2 I propose this for 11.04 already, but if possible, as an feature freeze exception for 10.10 and maybe a backport for 10.04? Btw, 1.3.0 is already packaged in Debian, so should be fairly easy to ship to Ubuntu: http://packages.debian.org/sid/nspluginwrapper http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/nspluginwrapper
