Bug Description
Ubuntu should not ship gnome-screensaver by default as it's provision for configuring screen-savers is deficient and won't be fixed. See bug #22007 (and associated upstream bug).
gnome-screensaver should be depracated and replaced with xscreensaver

The screensaver- settings from http:// software. xfx.net/ could be an interesting alternative.
