USB Drive Dismount - CATC Snapshot

Bug Description

USB drive dismounts during data transfer. This issue show up only with specific Laptops and Desktop running latest Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Kernel 2.6xx. Ran full OS update from update manager, still the issue show up.

Laptop Info: DELL Latitude D810
Desktop Info: HP DC5700

Herewith I have attached the CATC snapshot showing dismount. Please see Ubuntu host doesn't initiate a IN packet after #2472388.

As per USB Bulk-Only MassStorage Protocol, HOST should have issued an IN packet for 13byte CSW status phase. It never issued an IN packet.

Works OK with Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala). Could do IO tests for 120+ hrs without a dismount.

After 3hrs, drive dismounts with Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS (Lucid Lynx)

After 3hrs, drive dismounts with Ubuntu 10.10 Beta (Maverick Meerkat)

Any news on this bug? It's causing real problems with backups to external USB drives.
