Bug Description

bsnes is an accuracy focused SNES emulator, and the best of it's kind.
It shares 3 differents emulation cores :
- Accuracy : totally faithful to the original hardware, needs an extremely powerful machine.
- Compatibility : high accuracy with some little compromises to let the emulator run on decent machines.
- Performance : more compromises but it can run at 60fps on Atom based computers and is still more accurate than any other emulator (ZSNES or SNES9x for exemple).
It also shares lots of filters, even the ntsc filter by blargg.
With all these features, this emulator cans really feels like a true SNES.

Notes: How to compile : http://byuu.org/bsnes/compilation-guide
There is also a library with the emulator's core called libsnes : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bsnes#libsnes

Hi, I'm the bsnes author. I'd very much like to have bsnes be available in the apt-repository, but I don't have the access nor time to maintain such a thing myself.

However, I'm happy to work with anyone who does. I can explain how to build it, how to omit certain things, etc.
It can get pretty tricky because every component builds and installs separately, and I'd also prefer it to be profiled if possible (via -fprofile-generate and -fprofile-use).
