Bug Description
On my asus g51-VX the keyboard is a bit wonky in ubuntu 9.10, it changes the \ key to a < and the shift version of | to > it does this everywhere including gedit so i'm guessing it's a driver issue. I've checked in windows and it's seemingly a ubuntu only issue.
I've tried to nail it down further but the only thing i cna think of is that it's a keyboard driver issue as it's present everywhere. It's only that key that i've noticed thus far, and i noticed it when checking netbeans 6.9 and i was unable to use || for OR and it kept thowing me >> and i thought that it was a local bug, so then i tested it in gedit, pidgin, open office word, and in firefox and all of them do the same thing.

this bug is still present in 10.04 and i can imagine that it's something to do with the ubuntu keyboard driver people.
