Bug Description

I've been running Ubuntu 9.04 on my desktop machine for a long time now. Ive recently experienced a problem with printing in Firefox and Epiphany. Those are the only browsers I have tested. Whenever I open a page from "Latest Headlines" BBC pages in either Firefox or Epiphany, that contain Flash content, the print preview and actual hard copy prints are missing the image of the flash content as well as a lot of text. I originally thought it was a new bug introduced via updates. I have since did some testing with 8.04.4, 9.04, and 10.04 Beta 1 live CDs. They ALL behave identically. I'm not sure if this might be some sort of format change on Adobes behalf or what, no idea. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this either. But I have tested on 3 live CDs with and without flash installed. Would love so much just to be able to print once again.

This also is effecting Epiphany browser as well. FYI.
Wondering if this is a CUPS bug.

This problem occurs with and without a printer turned on, and with and without any 3rd party printer drivers installed. Since I saw this problem on basically all Ubuntu releases (didn't test 9.10) I wanted to check if it happened on other distros as well. This problem also exists in Mandriva 2010 gnome edition as well. So its not just Ubuntu that seems to be effected. This problem is not limited to just a single machine.

It would probably really help if anyone could just check there machine and see if this effects them as well and report any results. I doubt I'm the only one.

We have 2 printers in the house. Brother MFC-7840W and Brother HL-2140, both are USB monochrome laser printers. But like I said this happens with or without a printer attached because I see the same results in print preview. It does seem to be a browser only problem with flash content.

Mark Jones, with the problem occuring already in the preview, it is no bug of the printing system, the bug is for sure in the application then.
