Bug Description

Binary package hint: udev

Hibernate not work on Lenovo Y550 laptops.
1. When I click the hibernate menu item screen go black, but when I wake up laptop, they boot like I turn off it before. (Can't reproduce second time - maybe battery issue; I will investigate it after replace battery)
2. When I click the hibernate menu item screen go black, but when I wake up laptop, they turn on, but show only black screen, without any reaction to press buttons (Logs attached.)

Tested on Ubuntu Lucid with 2.6.32-24 kernel.

Also it's a regression-update bug, becase suspend/hibernate work before with 2.6.32-1x kernels, but I not clearly remeber when it's works.

After a failed hibernate attempt, please attach /var/log/pm-suspend.log and /var/log/kern.log. Thanks!

pm-suspend.log.1 shows a complete suspend to/resume from ram, but you said that this worked? pm-suspend.log only shows a suspend to ram, and nothing afterwards, i. e. the machine either switched off in between, or failed early on resume.

kern.log is just from one clean boot, which is a bit weird; did you trim that manually? Immediately after a boot from hibernation it should have a lot more to say.

Reassigning to the kernel, since you said it was working with the lucid final kernel.

But second time - not.

I think failed on resume. See item 2 in bug dexcription.

I remove kern.log before try to reproduce this bug. After that I turn on laptop and try to reproduce this bug two times (pm-suspend.log.1 and pm-suspend.log).

In Lucid hibernate always work first time after power on or reboot. But no more until reboot or power off/power on cycle.
In Maverick hibernate is always working for me. Then I set "Fix Released".
