Bug Description

I upgraded UBuntu from 9.04 to 9.10 yesterday.
It seemed to take an age (2-3 times a normal install.)
I had an unexpected logout when using Fire-fox on the web.
I had some slow downs / glitches after upgrading to 9.10.

I downloaded HP LIP Toolbox to anticipate buying a new HP Printer - that seems to have given it the wobbles!

I needed to know which HP Printers are supported so I could tell my colleague who wants Linux.

Fire-fox crashed out when I Pasted something into a Browser Field using Contol-C then Control-V.
Screen went blank and I found I was logged out.

2 days ago Recently also added a Logitech C200 Webcam into USB port.

I am sending this bug report FYI only so I want to now re-install Ubuntu 9.10 using a new Clean Install.
Pls do not spend too much time over it.

Thankyou & keep up the excellent work.
I neve had any problems on UB versions 8.04, 9.04 for last 2 years.

I will close this bug because some information are missing: if firefox crashed, we need a crash report, etc.
Also, please don't report many issues in the same bug: in this case, you should open a new bug for your firefox issue, and another for your slow down/glitches (unless you feel they're connected).
Also, this bug section is not the better place to post a "which is the better hardware..." question. Please post this kind of request in the "answers" part of launchpad. However, I'll tell you the answer: you'll find here:
http://www.openprinting.org/printers/manufacturer/HP
a list of HP printers which are working perfectly which linux.

Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better!

Changed in ubuntu:
status: New → Invalid

Thank you very much for coming back so quickly and for the very useful information on the specific printer / driver.

Bill
