Unable To Display Auto Wallpaper Changer In 9.10 UNR / 10.04 UNE, Toshiba NB 200 / 205

When changing desktop wallpaper from a standard image to the cosmos auto changing wallpaper, the wallpaper isn't displayed correctly (See attachment which shows the result). Changing the wallpaper back to either the original or other wallpapers works fine. This occurs ONLY on Ubuntu 9.10 UNR or 10.04 Alpha 2 UNE (Using a Toshiba NB 200 / 205 netbook). Performing the same test using the desktop versions for 9.10 & 10.04 works fine.

G'day Fabi,

I'm currently using Lucid UNE & with the latest updates the fault is still persists as shown with latest attached screen shot (Lucid UNE 17-10-2010.png). Because I don't use Karmic anymore I couldn't say for certain but as a calculated guess, because Lucid still has the fault it would be a safe bet that Karmic would be the same. Been unsure to try Maverick UNE with Unity because of reported performance issues but I do have a spare SATA hard drive which I can change over & install on for testing this & get back to you. Thank you for replying.

G'day Fabi,

Sorry for the wait but you know how it is ;). I install Maverick UNE (Unity) on a spare HDD & the auto changing wallpaper is fine so the problem only appears to be with Lucid & Karmic UNE's. Mind you I'm having stability Maverick UNE as the HDD keeps stalling / freezing (See bug 657990 or 634702) until you move the mouse or hold down the alt key which makes this version totally unusable. I might be better off sticking with Lucid UNE until the bugs are hopefully sorted.
