There are already Java IDEs around.

Don't request multiple flavors.

Those are exotic applications of low interest.

How many of them in GetDeb or in the repo?

I think you're not right, Christoph, rejecting all those packages. They are legitimate requests. Even if you're tired (you did a great job), simply let the bugs in place.

Repening this bug as this is very good professional level IDE (like Eiffel Studio, Monodevelop etc).

It already has an easy to use .jnlp installer - is there a problem using that method?

KBasic, FrostWire and other apps also have installers. I think the main purpose here is to make it all available in one place.

This is a really small IDE, I don't think it could be useful to package this as deb. I hate to say a software is not relevant because every software that has at least one user should have the right to be included - But in this case we already have a lot of Java IDEs on GetDeb and users who want to can install the IDE with the jnlp-Installer.
Maybe we need to discuss which applications should be included and which not. There have been a lot of Java-IDE packaging requests for the last weeks and we included a lot of Java-Software.
In my opinion this request should stay new: If someone wants to package the Java IDE he/she should have the opportunity to do this. It does not hurt anyone if there's one package more on GetDeb. It's good if we have a great variety of software.

By the way: Java packaging is a pain ;-)

I've added several Java IDE requests because I was searching software by topic: first compilers, then computer algebra systems, then spreadseets etc.

Yes and also it requires little maintenance as Ubuntu versions change. You need only package once and it will stay compatible with any future distros, unlike other software.

And he/she will not have to search available software anew whuich also is not an easy task. I vote all requests should stay new unless the application proven to be trivial/broken/incompatible.
