Bug Description

Since Karmic alpha GNOME menus are missing icons.

Confirming. I noticed that the icons show up correctly in the menu editor when you right-click on the menu and choose to edit the menus though.

Menu icons are disabled by default after a new karmic installation.
You can enable them with:
$ gconftool-2 --type bool --set /desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons true

or by using the mouse:
System > Preferences > Apperance
In the 'Interface' tab check 'Show icons in menus'.
