Bug Description
I have been struggling to get the nvidia driver working on my system. A common debug/resolution suggestion that I've read is to uninstall/reinstall the nvidia drivers. The reinstall failed as I didn't have the "patch" package installed.

Good catch, it seems most of the Ubuntu developers are developers so have patch installed and must have missed this.
