Bug Description

Last night I set my laptop to Hibernate, it hibernated fine, I left the Ethernet cable plugged into eth0 and the power supply in to charge the battery over night.

In the morning, I turn on the laptop and it comes back into my previous session like it should do, however eth0 is now eth2 but it cannot find the internet or be configured properly. So I decided I'll restart and it'll work fine.. however after entering log in details the screen hides the GDM, and goes blue (to the background colour I selected) but doesn't log me in. Under Ctrl+Alt+F7, it shows it does "Running Local Boot Scripts [ok] But then just has a flashing cursor underneath that, I'm running - Linux 2.6.15-21-386
so I decide to use Linux 2.6.15-20-386, the older version but exactly the same thing. So I try and use Breezy that I have on another partition and it comes up with Xorg.conf and Xserver errors and is unable to log me in.
