Bug Description

Please include Canon MP210 printer drivers. It's a multi-functional device, and scanning works out of the box, but printing does not. The drivers are here: http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0030808.asp?model=

This bug is tagged needs-packaging which identifies it as a request for a new package in Ubuntu. As a part of the managing needs-packaging bug reports specification, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/Specs/NeedsPackagingBugs, all needs-packaging bug reports have Wishlist importance. Subsequently, I'm setting this bug's status to Wishlist.

The license of this printer driver pobably does not allow this:
You are not permitted to: (1) rent, lease, sub-license, loan, sell, assign, convey, transfer, copy, modify, adapt, merge, translate, convert to another programming language, reverse-engineer, decompile, modify, alter, disassemble or create derivative works based on the whole or any part of the Software or its related documentation.

If you want your printer driver to be installed automatically in future versions of Ubuntu you should ask the manufacturer Canon to provide a distribution independent driver package as described here: http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/WritingAndPackagingPrinterDrivers, so automatic download of the printer driver becomes possible as already implemented by this specification: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/printerdriverautodownload since Ubuntu Intrepid.
