Bug Description
Binary package hint: mawk
System: Ubuntu 8.04.1
mawk version: 1.3.3-11ubuntu2
Running the following in bash:
for ((i = 1; i <= 10; ++i)); do echo -ne "$i\0"; done | awk 'BEGIN {RS = "\0"}; END {print NR}'
Gives: 1
Expected: 10
mawk does not care what RS is set to.

mawk does care - but it's not accepting a explicit null-character.
I've added a fix for the next snapshot of mawk.
