Bug Description

When I "move" a stream from my laptop to my desktop (both with jaunty) using pavucontrol, it doesn't work at all.

In /var/log/syslog of my laptop :

Does /usr/lib/pulse-0.9/modules/module-rtp-recv.so exist? If so, kill
pulseaudio, then run it via strace -f

You mentioned that it doesn't work anymore, in which release did this used to work?

It worked perfectly in Ubuntu Intrepid. When I upgraded my laptop to Jaunty, it was unable to receive RTP streams while my Intrepid desktop could. Now that I've upgraded my desktop to Jaunty, no RTP streams work.

Hi, i have the same problem.
The file /usr/lib/pulse-0.9/modules/module-rtp-recv.so exists.

I've attached a strace -f.

With this ppa https://launchpad.net/~themuso/+archive/ppa pulseaudio loads the modul and receiving streams works.
But after a while the sounds starts to stutter. I dont know if it is a problem of sending the stream into the network, of receiving the stream, a hardware problem or even a problem with the switches.

pulseaudio -vvv on the receiving machine:

I can confirm this, both on ubuntu 9.04 desktop edition, and ubuntu 9.04 server edition. I am trying to set up get my ubuntu home server to be a server for pulse audio so that I can plug stationary speakers into the server and have "wireless" speakers on my lan. You can read about my troubles on this thread:

Different Ubuntu versions have different protocol versions in PA, so you'll need to reproduce this in a matching configuring (Jaunty <-> Jaunty, Karmic <-> Karmic, Lucid <-> Lucid). Please report whether this symptom is reproducible in Lucid Beta 1.

I have the excat same isse as Jan (not the original post).

module-rtp-recv works. But after 20-50 seconds the sound gets more and more choppy/laggy. My output looks just like his.

Im running latest 10.04 with pulseaudio 0.9.21-63-gd3efa-dirty on both sender and reciever.
