There is my problem too. There is some patch in programming language C. But i dont know how to use it. Also i dont know if its safe.

I have on my new notebook windows vista too. There was problem with drive too. I could read media with drive but i couldnt burn CD/DVD. So i downloaded this driver Intel(R) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI, in windows was Intel(R) ICH9M/M-E Family 4 Port SATA AHCI Controller - 2929. With these new driver i can burn in win. vista. But i want use ubuntu too...
Btw. my notebook is Sony Vaio VGN-NS21Z.

How about trying setting the irqpoll boot option. I'm not sure what it does but it seems it works with some similar problems.

Hi Adonis Papaderos,
i was trying this before. It isnt change anything. After installation of ubuntu i was thinking thats this is problem with ACPI, so i trying add parameters to kernel like acpi=off, noapic and irqpoll. But this problem is with cd/dvd driver and this isnt helping.

In Ubuntu 9.10 the problem is solved :-). No error message at all, it fixed all problems with my notebook (VAIO VGN-NS21Z) except some 3D effect dont work (like maximizing windows). But it will be probably cause the new kernel version.
