Bug Description
Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
kernel : Kernel 2.6.30-5-generic
Release: 9.10
i expected the system to load normally without hangs
it's hangs after grub menu on black screen
i've been instructed by someone to remove the "quiet splash" kernel options from the grub command
doing that, i can login into X, else i can login using the "single" kernel option, but not using the "quiet splash"
and on each case i don't see the splash screen although the graphic cards is installed using "navyng" package
with help of "whoop" an ubuntu forum member, i was able to see the splash screen using the kernel option "vga=0x318"
but the loading progress isn't centered into the screen

This bug also affects me, and I noticed one detail:
While hanged I can continue boot if I issue a system wide sigterm (alt+sysrq+e). This probably closes usplash letting the system continue the boot process.
