Problem with usb reading on boot and shutdown

Bug Description

When i boot on Jaunty, my computer is very long because it seems to be an error with usb. This is the same thing when i shudown.

It takes about 1 or 2 minutes long...

No problem with Hardy.

A similar sequence of errors occurs frequently, but not always, with a HP LaserJet 1020 printer attached to a USB port. Ensuring that the printer is powered off during boot prevents the problem, but is an undesirable solution. The printer works fine once the system is up.
