Bug Description

I have an external hard drive and several thumb drives to use on two different USB ports. They usually show up on the desktop. For the past two weeks they are not there and the system is telling me that it is "unable to mount." I'm lost here

Thanks

This is a problem which also occurs with UVUNTU 9.04. After trying several suggested solutions, I finally have installed version 7.04 (not recommended due to it no longer being supported), and have no such problems accessing USB drives or flash drives.
My suspicion is that some new feature is somehow involved with inability to access USB drives.
By now, considering several folks have reported similar problems, hopefully the new version will have somehow resolved this issue.
