Bug Description

I've just tried to install the i386 version of Ubuntu 9.04 on an older PC with:
- Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHzIntel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz
$ lspci

00:03.3 USB Controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] USB 2.0 Controller
00:04.0 Ethernet controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] SiS900 PCI Fast Ethernet (rev 91)

00:08.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7134/SAA7135HL Video Broadcast Decoder (rev 01)
00:0a.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation 536EP Data Fax Modem
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV28 [GeForce4 Ti 4200 AGP 8x] (rev a1)

Although Ubuntu 8.10 was working fine there, Ubuntu 9.04 does not even start from Live CD.
Booting in "save graphic mode" does not help. During startup of xorg, the PC switches to black and afterwards,
you can no longer switch to a virtual console or even reboot the machine by pressing: <Ctrl>-<Alt>-<Del>.
So I'm not able to append any logfiles. Sorry.
