User is not assigned to video group at installation

Bug #365618 reported by Jos on 2009-04-23
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone

Bug Description

After installing ubuntu 9.04 RC, my user was not on the group "video"
The result is that we can't use any webcam, as we don't own rights to read / right /dev/videoX

My user on ubuntu 8.10 was on the group video.

I've solved after the problem by this command
sudo addgroup $USER video

Then disconnect reconnect the session

The users are not affected by default on the video group, but it does not seems to be a problem anymore.
