unpredictable but reliable system crash while in firefox

Bug Description

After upgrading from Intrepid, I'm getting hard crashes (can move mouse, but num lock lights are no longer controllable, and ctrl-alt-{del|f1|etc} do not work--the screen is on but frozen).

Typically I'm in Firefox and about 30min after a resume (from suspend). Also, notice that it always seems to happen when I'm highlighting text. All of these things are so common that they may or may not be related.

I did not have this problem in Intrepid, and it began immediately after I upgraded to Jaunty (9.04). Help?

Is this still an issue on Karmic or Lucid Beta? Thanks in advance.

Haven't tried Lucid Beta, but in Karmic it no longer crashes the computer.

Thanks. I'll close this then since it's fixed for you in Karmic. If you do experience this again when you update to Lucid, you can just file a new bug or reopen this one if you're sure it's the same one.
