After update today sound has stopped working

Bug Description

After todays update, the first update on my new Tosiba NB100 with Ubuntu OS the sound has stopped working and the open volume control returns:-

"No volume control GStreamer plugins and/or devices found"

For me this was a temporary issue that got fixed with later updates.
