Bug Description

Netbook with SATA harddisk pre-installed with Windows XP and AMI BIOS.
Hardisk is partitioned into C:, D: and E: with NTFS format. Plan to install Ubuntu 9.04 onto Drive E:

Netbook is able to boot Ubuntu from USB Thumb drive (untu-9.04-beta-netbook-remix-i386.img) and working normally.
However System Monitor is unable to see the SATA harddisk.

So when launch Installer from Ubuntu, it always stops at Partition Manager, but with no drive display for selection for installation. So installation failed.

Finally manage to install the Ubuntu 9.02 onto the Netbook SATA disk.
The following IDE Configuration must be set for the Ubuntu to install properly.
IDE Controller: Compatible Mode
IDE Mode: PATA and SATA
All other setting will cause Ubuntu to abort half way through boot up.

Changed in app-install-data-ubuntu (Ubuntu):

affects: app-install-data-ubuntu (Ubuntu) → ubuntu
