Bug Description

I have noticed since 9.04 Alpha 4 that any attempt to run the LiveCD or the end results of the Install that VMWare ges into a Starting loop With an application repetitivly starting and exiting, filling the panel with processes. I checked Processes and noticed about 4 - 6 Bash Processes actively running, tho at 0% CPU, nothing is using CPU % more than the Process viewer and nautilus

This Bug has persisted to 9.04 Beta (Alpha 6) and I am wanting to make sure it doesn't appear in the final.

I also had this issue on my real machine with the LiveCD, every test I tried to get this running, ended in the same problem.

I have tried 2 Download locations and 2 Version to see if it was a build bug, I have tried 2 PC's to see if it was iscolated to my hardware. . but I haven't managed to get Ubuntu 9.04 to start without this problem.

I expected Gnome GUI to start and for the Session Manager to run the startup scripts, completing and leaving the Desktop without any new Tasks starting and exiting for the rest of the logon session.

This issue affects me installing successfully in 9.04 Alpha 6. So I never got to create a new user to test, but in 9.04 Alpha 4, I tried to create a new user and it still had the same effect.

I have no other infomation I can provide on the problem. Just requesting a check of the Session boot file or any startup (post GUI) that could be causing this during my tests.

Again, it Says "Starting..." and has between 4 and 12 Items in the Panel depending on what else I am running (more CPU I use. . less windows show) but as soon as I stop using CPU/HDD it fills back up to 10 - 12 "Starting..." windows in the panel. Clicking these Panel items doesn't show a window, so I suspect a bash script on Session is either calling itself up, or that it is crashing the script and attempting to run it again and again without providing output to debug the issue.

Good luck and Please eMail me if I can help with anything else, or this problem gets fixed ;)

Is this file manager that it tries starting?
If so, does removing mounted iso from vmware help at all?
Does "sudo apt-get remove libbrasero-media0" help?

If so look at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/329146
And mark this as duplicate.

Is spot on - removing the Media will stop the spawning and they will close off until none left, they do start up agin if media is re-inserted.

This appears to be a duplicate bug, I am unable to remove the package as I cannot successful install the OS to begin with.

Thanks for finding this out so quickly, sorry for dupe posting the bug.
