Bug Description

lspci ...
Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03)

Fresh install of Kunbuntu Jaunty Alpha 6.

No sound at all despite the fact that i have checked and made sure in kmix
that both master, front, pcm and headphones all was unmuted and turnedup.

I get error message at boot saying that my STA Intel bla bla doesnt work switching to Pulseaudio.

End result = no sound.

Have been like this since alph3..

Best regards

The step I took was.
1) Fresh install of Jaunty = No sound.
2) Tried asoundconf set-default-card Intel = Still no sound
3) asoundconf reset-default-card = no sound
4) asoundconf set-default-card Intel = still no sound
At all stages I check with alsamixer and kmixer to verify that master, front , pcm and headphone was not muted and was turned up.
And the result is the same both on my HP laptop and my Asus based motherboard which both have the Intel sound cards.
After login the notification systems show a dialog saying sound device STA intel .... not working switching to PULSEAUDIO.

Ever since Alpha 3 I have had no sound on the jaunty relases. Is the only real problem I have at all with jaunty all else works really good now by Aplha 6. I use everyday now for work and freetime. But this sound thing is driving me crazy :-).
Kinda this little thing out of the way and I would be so damn happy with jaunty...

Let me know if I can provide more info to help this issue.

Regards
Happytiger
