Webcam not detected on Dell Inspiron 1545

Dell inspiron 1545 internal webcam is not detected on Jaunty Alpha 5 (64-bit) live cd.

Relevant files are attached.

Windows vista reports this information about the device:
Manufacturer: Creative Technology Ltd.
Location: 0000.001a.0007.006.000.000.000.000.000

I may have jumped the gun on this one. I'm back in Ubuntu 8.10 and the webcam is working fine. I'll try the jaunty cd again later and see if its really working there too.

I confirmed the webcam works fine in 64-bit and 32-bit Jaunty alpha 6. It just wasn't detected by the F-Spot program (which may not be designed for use with webcams anyway). Feel free to close this bug report.

I'm using ubuntu 64 bits and having the same problem as reported. Tried to install easycam but can't find a working repo. Could anybody give me advice?

I can confirm this bug. I am running the same machine and the webcam is not detected independently by Skype, F-Spot, and Cheese.

I should note this is not via live cd rather installed on my HDD.
