I can confirm that this kernel panic bug appeared on my Acer Aspire One only after the last kernel update per my Synaptic history:

The latest kernel 2.6.24-23 will no longer finish booting. I am using the older 2.6.24-19-generic kernel in the meantime until a fix/update is provided. Thx.
