Bug Description

I have a Compaq Evo N1000v laptop running 8.10. I can hibernate and thaw with no problems, but when I suspend and try to resume, the keyboard and mouse are inoperative. I can't unlock the screen and the only way to get the computer back is to hard reset. I have a thread in the forums about this here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1047284

I will attach what I can from the DebuggingACPI page of the wiki and return to attach the rest.

I tried to save a copy of /proc/acpi but I can't because it says that the "Device or resource is busy."

Here's a better kern.log (one that's actually from today :).

Ran updates (including a new kernel) and it still exhibits identical behavior.

adding a "me too"
my desktop keyboard and monitor are unresponsive (monitor says no signal, keyboard doesn't show the caps lock light) when I resume from a suspend. I'm running Jaunty Jackalope, with a Chimei LCD and a Dell keyboard. Happy to provide any other information about my setup that would be useful.
I suppose I'll use hibernate for now, but that's a pain.

I confirm the same behavior in Kubuntu 9.04. Any idea?

None yet. I had other hassles with my Ubuntu installation which caused me
to abandon it for the time being. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Please reply if this is still an issue on a supported release.

I am running Debian Wheezy on that machine right now - and it still has the
same issue unless I add the boot parameter `atkbd.reset` I can't say for
certain that it affects an Ubuntu release, but I imagine it may if it
affects Debian.
