I Can't See floppy Drive at all !!!

Bug Description
Hi i dont know if someone can help me but i will a happy men if someone can :)
I have a uptodate ubuntu 8.10 !!!
The problem is : I cant see my floppy drive (3.5HD) at ALL ( and i know the hardware work perfectely i boot from it today !)
When i try to mount it :sudo mount /dev/fd0 it give me that error message :mount: can't find /dev/fd0 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
i tri to use MAKEDEV too create a dev for my floppy disk and :
root@ADD-
udev active, devices will be created in /dev/.static/dev/
/sbin/MAKEDEV: don't know how to make device "fd0H1440"
????
Can someone help me please :)
