Bug Description

Fresh install of Kubuntu 8.10 on reformatted disk. Cannot get to internet unless I use an IP address. Simply will not resolve using nameserver. Worked fine with 8.04 using same local nameserver.

Also, 'interfaces' file had to be edited manually to add the eth0 configuration to even get off the ground - using static ip.

Have no idea where Network Manager stuffed the configuration info I put into it on first attempts at entering static ip.

Mike

Problem fixed. There was NO resolv.conf file in the etc directory. Added nameservers there and machine is currently running Adept fine.

Once again, have no idea where Network Manager stuffed the original nameserver info I gave it.

Cannot publish my Kubuntu /etc/network/interfaces now.

Far too many problems with Kubuntu over last few years. Switched to Fedora 10.
