Bug Description

When I booted from the Intrepid RC disc, I got the splash screen, but when I assume it tried to start the X server, my monitor just said "Out of scan range".

I have an ATi Radeon 3850 PCI Express connected via the primary DVI port and a DVI-VGA DSUB adapter to my 17" Sony CPD-220 CRT monitor.

Not sure if the bug is in X, the ATi X driver, or Ubiquity.

The default (almost empty) xorg.conf caused this.

Running XORG_SYNC_RANGES=yes dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg produced the same xorg.conf.

After changing the Monitor section to include explicit sync and refresh values, the logs look a little different but the end result was still the same

Section "Monitor"
        Identifier "Configured Monitor"
        HorizSync 30-95
        VertRefresh 60-85
EndSection

It works fine with the vesa driver, so I'm assuming the bug is related to the "radeon" driver.

For some reason, there's no xserver-xorg-video-radeon package in Launchpad, so i'm assigning to the general xserver-xorg package.

Currently working using the vesa driver. It defaulted to 1600x1200, which isn't an ideal resolution, but my monitor does support that at 60 Hz (and only 60 Hz).
