Sound Preferences indicated my sound card is "HDA Intel STAC92xx", and I'm using ALSA. Michiel describes my symptoms. * Mute from volume applet works fine. * Mute from laptop keys will produce static while sound is playing, from Flash or Rhythmbox. |
