Bug Description

Wlan doesn't work after suspend on my Acer Aspire 3103 laptop. Network manager shows wireless networks but if try to connect nm-icon just spins and spins and then after timeout it asks wlan password and try to connect again without any results. I didn't find this problem in 8.04.

There is hardware summary attachment.

I have the same problem on my Thinkpad T42 and the Atheros AR5212 802.11abg chip

I have same problem with final version of 8.10. My laptop is MSI MegaBook S271.
This functionality worked without any problem in 8.04.

Can also confirm this problem for the final version (Thinkpad T42).

Same problem here. Everything was fine with Ubuntu 8.04. Is it the changed kernel module (ath9k instead of ath5k) or the new network manager? Any hints how to narrow the problem?

(fyi (low importance) Furthermore the signal strength info is nice at my home with only one access point; but in the university i have 2 wifi networks with 19 access points each. In 8.04 the strength information was correct (the strongest one), now only the panel applet is correct but the overview widget displays the two wifi with 0% each. )

workaround: ath_hal is causing the problem, reloading it helps
# modprobe -r ath_pci ath_rate_sample ath_hal
# modprobe ath_hal; modprobe ath_pci; modprobe ath_rate_sample
... should be done automatically on acpi events, but i havn t figured out how to do that...
