Bug Description

I have a Compaq Persario C700 (exact model is C751NR) series laptop. I just did a clean install of 8.10 Ubuntu on the system and I like to report a bug whereas the kernel does not seem to see the battery. Here's a few pieces of critical information:

Under 8.04 the system sees the battery with no issues under a default install. I know its not a battery/system problem because:

1) I can unplug my AC adapter and I still am able to work (this the battery is good).
2) Under ubuntu 8.04 it works perfectly (the system seems the battery and everything) which was working till about an hour ago when I wiped and went to 8.10.
3) I can boot to Windows and it sees the battery perfectly.
