cd-rom drive closes automatically on manual eject

Bug Description

Hello,
When I try to eject a disc from either of my cd-rom drives on my desktop, as soon as the drives are fully ejected, they are sucked back in. I am attempting to manually eject the drive without doing anything in Intrepid (unmount or eject from right-click menu). If I attempt to first unmount (and manually eject) or click the eject symbol, I get the same result . Once the drive has been sucked back in, If I immediately manually eject again (before allowing the disk to load), the drive will stay open.

Please let me know what other information I might be able to provide. Below is some output from dmesg:

Just realized I didn't list anything specific. I'm running Intrepid 64-bit with all the current updates.
