Bug Description
When I press the volume keys on the keyboard, I see the little volume slider pop up on the screen, and the slider
reacts to the key-presses as expected. The volume control in the taskbar is also updated accordingly. However, none
of this has any effect on the level of the sound coming out of the speakers.
Running Ubuntu 5.10 (AMD64 version).

My acer aspire 3000 has the same issue, but it turns out its because the volume keys control the master, not the headphone volume.
