Bug Description
I just upgraded to ubuntu 8.10 from 8.04
CPU hangs after wake up (dell xps M1330) Then I have to reboot to start again.
VLC viewer cannot play asf and wmv files either. It cannot find the codec.

It's better to post two separate bugs instead of both being in one. With the VLC issue, some .wmv files have restricted licensing which make them impossible to play. Your best bet would be to convert it to another format.
