Bug Description

I was surprised to discover that the popular open source content management system Joomla! is not packaged for Ubuntu. This should be packaged.

I agree, this seems a really powerful package, a local chess club has used it for their website and it must be immensely scalable as I found out the United Nations also uses it for their websites.

This could have something to do with it. This is the last entry in ITP #326398 dated 29 Nov 2008

"This ITP bug is over 3 years old, there are obvious licensing issues and it is
a security nightmare. I am closing this for now, please only reopen, if the
license issues are resolved, packages are prepared and security issues are
taken care of and will be taken care of in the future :)"

This bug is tagged needs-packaging which identifies it as a request for a new package in Ubuntu. As a part of the managing needs-packaging bug reports specification, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/Specs/NeedsPackagingBugs, all needs-packaging bug reports have Wishlist importance. Subsequently, I'm setting this bug's status to Wishlist.

Setting this bug to incomplete until such a time as a package appears on REVU, or the Debian ITP bug is reopened.
