I can confirm all of the above.

Multirow taskmanager seems to have been part of the problem on my set up, but renaming .kde does not help.

Cannot load FF, TB, etc

Cannot confirm fix after update (today)

Multirow task manager crashes plasma and launching on kde apps from terminal gives (example):
fintan1@fintanws2:~$ thunderbird
Cannot mix incompatible Qt libraries

Kubuntu does not provide packages for the multirow taskmanager, so it is not a supported piece of software. Your Thunderbird issue seems to be an entirely different issue with gtk-qt-engine.
