Bug Description
Binary package hint: xfdesktop4
Symptom:
xfdesktop crashes. It no longer shows up in 'ps ax' and the 'Allow Xfce to manage my desktop' become unticked.
-------
When it happens:
Right clicking on the desktop.
-------
Dump of current settings under Settings -> Desktop:
Allow Xfce to manage my desktop: Ticked
Appearance Tab
Color style: Solid color
First color: Blue
Show Image: Ticked
File: /home/aboutblan
Style: stretched
Adjust Brightness: 0
Behavior Tab
Show window list on middle click: Ticked
Show desktop menu on right click: NOT TICKED
Desktop Icons: None
-------
Environment:
Xubuntu 8.04.1 64-bit with latest updates as of 8/9/08
Xfdesktop4 version 4.4.2-5ubuntu1.1
-------
Running xfdesktop in terminal:
$ xfdesktop
picked i=245, /home/aboutblan
Segmentation fault
-------
Middle clicking on the desktop has never caused the problem.
After enabling "Show desktop menu on right click," right clicking the desktop does NOT cause it to crash.
After a crash, I can restart xfdesktop by re-ticking "Allow Xfce to manage my desktop".
It's unclear to me if this is related to https:/
I think it's a dup of bug #99040 but your backtrace looks better.
Thanks!
