Bug Description

when i type on the number pad of my apple slim keyboard no number appear. The number pad defaults to a directional pad until the "clear" button is pressed then it converts to a number pad. Since there are no arrows on the directional keys I think the number pad should be enabled by default.

That bug was an actual functionality issue, this is more of a preference thing. i.e., Having numlock on or off by default on bootup.

My personal preference is that it is left the way it is, and the user should configure their system to have numlock on by default, but this is not the first complaint I have heard about this operation (especially since there are no arrows on the numberpad of these keyboards).

I don't see how we can allow the numlock to be left off if the keyboard has
no arrows

Justin, I understand this argument and I am not the one to decide either way. My point was that it is not a matter of incorrect operation per se (it functions as intended, just like it operates on other PC keyboards), but rather that the default settings for this particular set of keyboards (Apple's Aluminum keyboards) do not make sense for the associated key markings. Thus, there is not really a package to mark this as a bug against.

Jad,
No problem, it did sound similar.
