Bug Description
URL: http://
Description:
A lot of work has been done on the Sequence editor, below the list of highlights.
Architecture
* Sequencer is now near realtime editing, with a memory cache limiter to keep memory usage at a sane, consistent level.
* Can edit timelines of several hours now.
* Sequencer is fully float image aware. You can mix 32 bits and float freely, output then will become float too.
User Interface
* Interface visibility and usability improvements. (Strip colors are themeable)
* Preview display has a channel tuner (to indicate which channel is shown).
* The preview display can show a waveform plot and a U/V scatter plot
* The preview can be panned with the MMB
* IPOs can be locked to the frame counter.
In addition to modeling and animation, Blender has a fully functional Video Sequence Editor as well as an advanced node-based editor that also manipulates a video stream.
Compositing Nodes operate equally well on images or video streams, and can apply detailed image manipulation on the stream.

Notes:
This is the same as Blender the 3D Modeler and Renderer.
However, the video editing features of Blender seldom get a mention, and it definitely doesn't get a menu entry in menu Applications => Sound and Video.
Suggestion:
Blender Video Editor may not be a separate program, but it could do with a menu link "Sound and Video" so people can become to be aware that it is a video editor and animator.
