Bug Description

I just dl'd the 8.04 RC and it won't partition on my installation.
I have:
sda1 ntfs 20 GB (windows XP)
    60 GB Free
With the partitioner, I created:
 sda2 ext3 7.5 GB
 sda3 ext3 49.5 GB
 sda4 swap 2.048 GB
It gets to 15% partitioning and has an error creating the partition on sda2. I tried Ubuntu 7.10 and it will perform this without error. I did check the 8.04 iso image with md5sum and run the CD error check program before installing.

Is this with the Live CD or the Alternate CD that this is happening?

It's with the live CD.
I'm just now getting ready to try again and collect the log info to
post. Has anyone else tried a dual boot install yet?

It seems to be installing Ok at this point. I did the partitioning with
the 7.10 CD install and did not change the partitions with the 8.04
partitioner. I can try again, partitioning with 8.04 if you want me to
in order to get logs.

That would be great if you could. The log file located at /var/log/syslog is useful. Also, if you can give any further details on what error was reported, it will help so we can complete this report.

Thanks!

See the logs filed with https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220105
They were gathered while ubiquity was hung up.
