Bug Description

Hardy updated to 2008-04-13

The sound configuration panel shows the event has been configured and the "wav" file plays as expected from the panel.

All other sound events play as expected.

Same here. I would add to it that in Gutsy I also had no logout sound, than in Hardy I had until a recent update. Unfortunately my speakers were off around that time, so I cannot sayprecisely when it got broken.

Just checked again with the beta desktop CD, and the logout sound worked well in it.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Now that the final version of Hardy Heron is available we were wondering if this issue still exists. Thanks in advance.

Brain,

Thanks for the follow up. At this time (8/2008) the log out sound does not play. However this may be a Gnome issue as I noticed this is the case with openSuSE/Gnome 11 as well. It may also be true with Linux MINT.

Some thread elsewhere have suggest this function will be dropped as some feel it is not necessary.

John
