Bug Description
hi all, the problem is simple : numeric keypad doesn't work on my two computer in hardy beta 5 (one laptop with external USB keyboard, and one desktop with usb keyboard too).
HOW TO REPRODUCE BUG :
Just install Hardy Beta 5 (you can install all updates if you want but the bug is still there). Open gnome-editor or anything else you can write in and use your numeric keypad !
When Num lock is off the num keypad is like arrow keys (normal), and when num lock is ON the keypad doesn't respond (except Enter). I noticed that the keys "jkluio789" work like "123456789" and the others key are disabled, like if I was using a laptop. But I use a desktop with a normal keyboard !
Today I've just done 130Mb of updates and the problem is still there after reboot...
PS : If I use Shift + num keypad it works. But I don't want to use shift all the time !
PS2 : CTRL+SHIFT+NUM LOCK make the num keypad to control the mouse cursor.
Hi,
Could you please confirm whether the following setting is on or off?
System- >Properties- >Assistive Technologies- >Keyboard Accesibility->
Mouse Keys tab->"Allow to control the pointer using the keyboard"
If this is on does turning it off help?
Thanks,
James
