Bug Description

On Hardy Heron (up-to-date as of 31st March, 14:11 UTC) with Compiz Fusion enabled and using the nVidia drivers from the repos with an nVidia GeForce 8800 GT, windows have a red shadow effect in the default theme which is inconsistent with the rest of the colour scheme.

heh fixed for me by opening gconf-editor, and going apps/compiz/plugins/decoration/allscreens/options and changing #shadow_colour to #111 and restarting X

@Peddy...

I tried that but it gave me a super dark pink shadow. =(

Doesn't work for me.

sorry, I forgot to add the first step:

@Necrolon: sudo ln -sf /usr/lib/nvidia/libwfb.so.xserver-xorg-core /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libwfb.so

(creates a symbolic link of some sort)

you can make a backup of the original if you wish

then restart X. You may need to remove /usr/lib/nvidia/libwfb.so before you can replace it with the symbolic link.

The strange thing is, even though I have the flat-file backend set in CCSM, editing the gconf settings still affect the Decoration Options.

Good luck, let me know how it goes.

This happened to me too upon upgrade to Hardy (I have an Nvidia 8600GTS) -- followed instructions above, which sorted it out immediately. Thank-you!
